Recording & Consent
How we disclose the AI assistant, obtain consent to record, and handle recordings afterwards.
Disclosure on every call
Every inbound call opens with a spoken disclosure that identifies the assistant as an AI and states that the call may be recorded, before any information is collected. A caller who does not wish to continue can hang up or ask for a human callback at any point.
Why we disclose twice over
The greeting covers two separate obligations. First, several US states require all parties to consent to the recording of a call. Second, a growing number of jurisdictions require disclosure when a person is speaking with an artificial voice rather than a human. Announcing both at the start, on every call, is our default regardless of where the caller is located.
Two-party consent states
Because we cannot know in advance where a caller is located, we treat every call as if all-party consent is required. This covers states with all-party consent rules, including California, Florida, Washington, Pennsylvania, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Montana, New Hampshire, Oregon, Connecticut, and Delaware. This page is not legal advice and does not replace guidance from your own counsel.
What is recorded
We store the call audio, a transcript, a written summary, and the structured details the assistant captured, such as the caller's name, callback number, address, and the reason for the call. These are visible to you in your client portal.
Retention and deletion
Recordings and transcripts are retained for approximately 90 days and are then deleted automatically. You may request a shorter or longer retention period in writing, subject to any legal obligation to preserve records. A caller may request deletion of their recording by contacting you or us athello@meetansora.com.
Access and security
Recordings are encrypted in transit and at rest, and are isolated per client so no other business can access them. Access by our staff is limited to what is required to operate and support the service.
Outbound calls
The service is inbound only. We do not place automated outbound calls on your behalf. If outbound calling is added in the future, it will require separate prior written consent from the recipients under the applicable telemarketing rules.
Text messages
Text messaging is off by default. Where appointment confirmations by text are enabled for your account, they are sent only to the number a caller provides during the call, include your business name, and support the standard opt-out keywords. The messaging campaign is registered with the carriers before the feature is switched on for your account.
